Young Thug was released from prison on Thursday (October 31) after two years of confinement as his RICO trial was drawn out. The chart-topping rapper, whose given name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, stood before a judge and pleaded no contest to RICO and gang leader counts, while pleading guilty to his other charges that include two gun charges and three drug charges. The judge sentenced Williams to 15 years of probation along with time served on several counts. If his probation time is successfully met, that would result in the commutation of his service portion. “I am a smart guy, I am a good guy, and I really got a good heart,” Williams told the judge before the sentence was handed down. “I found myself in a lot of stuff because I was just nice and cool, and I understand you can’t be that way when you reach a certain height because it could end bad.” (Variety)
