LL Cool J recently released a new single, “Saturday Night Special,” featuring Rick Ross and Fat Joe, via Def Jam Recordings/Virgin Music Group.

The song marks the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and two-time Grammy Award-winning hip-hop icon’s comeback after a decade-long hiatus.

The accompanying black-and-white music video sees LL, Fat Joe, and Rick Ross perform together, laying down the lyrics.

The JackTheShooter-directed video, was filmed in Miami, Florida. HiHat served as creative director.

“‘Saturday Night Special’ is just the beginning,” LL states. “There’s a lot more where this came from, and I’m hyped for y’all to hear this new record. We’re doing this for the fans and for Hip-Hop culture.”

“It’s the real deal, baby. It’s go time. ‘Saturday Night Special’ is the first single,” LL told fans on social media a few days before the release of the track. “I’ll let you know about the features. Couple of days . Hit the link in the bio, you’ll be able to find out a little sooner. Tracklisting for the album is coming. Album will be out in the fall. Yo, it’s on, baby.”

“Saturday Night Special” got its name from the revolver class of the same name. The song’s core message is one of trust and reciprocity in the hustle.

LL and Fat Joe previously collaborated in 1995 on “I Shot Ya,” which landed on LL Cool J’s Mr. Smith album.
