The Soul Food Poetry Cafe is proud to honor several spoken word artists and organizations who have made an enormous impact with their contributions to the poetry community. Our honorees consist of poets, artist community leaders, events that dominate the Nashville open mic scene, and those who make a difference in the lives of our next generation using the art of spoken word. Founded 16 years ago by Nashville poet Imani Rhema, the Soul Food Poetry Cafe is Nashville’s longest-running live music and spoken word showcase – featuring some of the most talented poets, musicians, and vocalists in the artist community.
