Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church Celebrates 147th Years of Ministry! Nashville, TN – Sunday, September 24, 2023, 10:00 a.m., Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church will celebrate its 147th anniversary homecoming. The Gordon Memorial congregation has been deeply rooted in serving God and the Nashville community for 147 years! These roots, planted so long ago have set the foundation of the church’s rich heritage and history of standing on the promises of God and witnessing throughout the community. Under the anointed pastoral leadership of the Reverend Dr. Paula Smith., Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church is located in the heart of historic North Nashville; nestled between Tennessee State University, Meharry Medical College and Fisk University, at 2334 Herman Street, Nashville, TN 37208. Email: [email protected]) The guest speaker for this year’s homecoming celebration will be the Reverend Dr. Harold Love, Jr. pastor of St. Paul AME Church. Reverend Love was ordained an elder by the A.M.E. Church in 1999 and received his first Pastoral assignment. From October 2002 to November 20, 2016, he was the Pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Nashville, TN. On November 21, 2016, He was appointed Pastor of Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church. Reverend Love was elected to the TN House of Representatives for the 58th Legislative District in 2012. He serves on the following Committees in the TN House of Representatives: Education Administration, Local Government, Finance Ways and Means. He currently serves as a Board Member of The 18th Avenue Family Enrichment Center, Dr. N. Joyce Payne Center for Social Justice. Tennessee Advisory Council on Intergovernmental AffairThis year’s homecoming will be a remembrance of the past, a celebration of the present, and the anticipation of a future anointed by God.
