Nashville Jazz Workshop is joining Equity Alliance in celebrating Juneteenth at the Black on Buchanan Block Party on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 12 pm-6 pm. Nashville Jazz Workshop’s Juneteenth Jazz and Art Live Experience will include the following events:
12 pm-5 pm: Hands-on Community Mural – everyone is invited to help paint an original mural by artist Donna Woodley. All materials provided, just bring your creativity
12:30 pm-1:30 pm: performance from Nadia Reist Quintet on the outdoor stage
2 pm-2:45 pm – Parade from Nashville Jazz Workshop to 9th Street and performance on NJW outdoor stage featuring Roland Barber and the Righteous Few Brass Band
3 pm-3:30 pm: – Jazz AM, Bessie Smith – Family program for children at the Jazz Cave featuring the story, and music of Bessie Smith’s life. Three puppets, live band, and performers. Fun for all ages!
4 pm-4:45 pm: performance from Nadia Reist Quintet on the outdoor stage
5:00 pm – 5:45 pm: performance from Roland Barber and the Righteous Few Brass Band on outdoor stage
