UPS TRUCK CARJACKED – 4 PEOPLE KILLED

At least four people were killed in gunfire Thursday in Miramar, Florida, after a UPS driver was carjacked by at least two suspects, who led police on a chase that ended in a shootout. According to Miramar Fire Rescue, there people were killed at the scene while a fourth victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition. It’s unclear whether the UPS driver is one of the victims.The incident began shortly after 4 p.m. local time when police in Coral Gables were notified by silent alarm about a robbery at a jewelry store in the Miracle Mile part of the city. Shots were fired when police arrived, then the suspects took off in a truck before carjacking a UPS truck. The chase ended when the truck got stuck in traffic, leading to a shootout between the suspects and police.


Arrest made in ‘brutal’ murder of a counselor

Metro Nashville Police officers arrested 31 year old Brian Conley in connection to the “brutal” murder of a counselor. Melissa Hamilton was found dead at her place of work, Crossroads Counseling , Wednesday morning. Police say she had suffered multiple stab wounds during an incident sometime overnight. The police charged Conley yesterday for allegedly killing her.

Metro’s juvenile court judge said the Juvenile Justice Center is not secure. Following this weekend’s escape of 4 juveniles, a video was released by court officials that shows a teen unsuccessfully trying to escape the facility in 2017. Saturday, four teens successfully escaped from the center.  The escape was caught on surveillance video. Judge Sheila Calloway said she was extreely concerned and very disturbed., A $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the teens still on the run – Morris Marsh and Brandon Caruthers. Nashville cuts affordable housing grant money nearly in half

Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced Tuesday that the annual funding for the Barnes Fund – Nashville’s affordable housing trust fund – would be cut nearly in half. The announcement came an hour before the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission was scheduled to approve the original $9.5 million in grants for the Barnes Fund. Cooper announced that he would be awarding just $5 million in grants instead, saying the decision was made in response to recent warnings about the city’s budget from the state comptroller’s office. Cooper added that he is hoping to approve more grants for the Barnes Fund in the spring of 2020.
