 Man killed in Edgehill shooting

Police are investigating a deadly shooting in the Edgehill area of Nashville. Officers were called to the 700 block of Alloway Street Monday evening. Officials say a man in his 20s was shot in the chest and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died. Details have not been released but I will have more information on this story as it develops.


Roland Martin to deliver TSU Fall Commencement address

Roland Martin, a political commentator and acclaimed journalist, is slated to deliver the commencement address for Tennessee State University’s fall graduation ceremony. The commencement will happen Dec. 7 in the Howard C. Gentry Complex starting at 8 a.m. Martin will give his commencement address to 581 undergraduate and graduate students receiving degrees in various fields.


Second suspect charged in deadly East Nashville stabbing

A second person was charged with murder in connection to a deadly stabbing in East Nashville that happened in early September. 27 year old Cedric Thompson was found stabbed to death on September 4 on Bethwood Drive.  24-year-old Deondre Sanders was arrested and charged with criminal homicide. A grand jury also indicted Deondre Sanders’ brother Trevon Sanders with first-degree murder. Police said the stabbing happened after an argument over a woman. Police said the stabbing happened after an argument over a woman.


Man posed as teenager, raped Nashville girl he met on Snapchat

A 24-year-old man posing as a teenager repeatedly raped a 16-year-old he met on Snapchat last month, a police report alleges. The juvenile told police she met Anthony Calderon Conde on Snapchat and he claimed to be a 17-year-old boy. After multiple sexual encounters, the juvenile said he admitted he was actually 24 years old. Calderon Conde was booked into the Metro jail on charges including statutory rape and solicitation of a minor. His bond was set at $19,000.


NASHVILLE MAN INDICTED ON HIV EXPOSURE CHARGE

A Davidson County Grand Jury has indicted 40 year old Danny Perry II with criminal exposure of HIV to another person. The indictment, which was unsealed on November 15th, details the exposure that occurred between November of 2014 and August of 2016. It alleges Perry knew he was infected with HIV and knowingly engaged in intimate contact with another person without disclosing the information to his partner. Perry is scheduled to be arraigned on December 11th and is bond was set at $25,000.
