Teen charged, two more suspects sought in crime spree against Lyft drivers

Police have arrested a 17-year-old Reginald Williams Jr in connection with a crime spree against Lyft drivers in Nashville. Two others remain at large in the case. Williams . admitted to being involved in a series of violent crimes Friday night, including the shooting and attempted robbery of a ride-share driver and the sexual assault of another. Williams has been charged in Juvenile Court with aggravated robbery, attempted criminal homicide, carjacking, and evading arrest. Police said additional charges are pending.


Failure to yield causes death of 28-year-old motorcycle driver

A man is dead after a car collided with his motorcycle in North Nashville Tuesday. The motorcyclist, John Binkley Jr., was  traveling south on Clarksville Pike near Stevens Lane and the car driver, 29 year old , Rayona Campbell, , was traveling east on Stevens Lane and they collided as a result of Campbell’s failure to yield. Binkley died on scene, and Campbell was not injured in the crash. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this wreck. The investigation is on-going.


Police: Drug operation uncovered at Nashville in-home daycare

An apparent drug operation was reportedly uncovered inside of a house that doubled as an in-home daycare near the Tennessee State University campus. Metro police served a search warrant yesterday at the residence on 32nd Avenue North near Albion Street. Paraphanelia, drugs and money were recovered inside the home. According to police, Antwan Gregory claimed ownership of the drugs. Gregory was arrested on multiple counts of child endangerment, as well as drug charges. His bond was set at nearly $80,000.


Cyrus Wilson, serving life sentence for murder in Nashville, granted parole

A Nashville man serving a life sentence for a murder he says he didn’t commit has been granted parole. The Tennessee Board of Parole voted to grant parole to Cyrus Wilson. Wilgon got four out of seven votes at a grant hearing on Oct. 16, in favor of his release. Wilson had just turned 18 when he was arrested and charged with the first degree murder of Christopher Luckett in the Edgehill neighborhood in September of 1992. He’s 45 now. Throughout that entire time period, he’s maintained his innocence.


Body of 3-year-old girl abducted in Alabama found in dumpster

The body of 3-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney was recovered by law enforcement in Alabama yesterday, bringing an end to a 10-day search for the girl. Her remains were found inside of a dumpster at a landfill in Birmingham, The Birmingham Police Chief said that warrants will be issued on Wednesday charging Patrick Stallworth and Derick Irisha Brown with kidnapping and capital murder. Both suspects are in police custody. The chief said they believe there is no connection between Kamille’s family and the suspects.
