Man found shot to death in Madison
A man was found shot to death near a neighbor’s driveway in Madison. 36-year-old Shawn David Simms was found Monday on the 300 block of Walton Lane. It’s unclear what led to his death, but neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Detectives are working to identify a person that was seen in a car earlier with with Simms. Man seriously injured after being shot while driving in Nashville
A man was shot last night while driving in the area of Briley Parkway and Whites Creek in Nashville. According to Metro Polce,, the man walked into TriStar Skyline Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. A woman that was with him told officers he was hit while driving down the road. She described the suspect’s car as a white Ford Taurus. The man suffered what officials said were possibly life-threatening injuries.
ELIJAH CUMMINGS TO LIE IN STATE
The late Rep. Elijah Cummings, will “lie in state” this Thursday in Statuary Hall of the Capitol ahead of his funeral in Baltimore on Friday. A public viewing has been scheduled for this Wednesday. A wake and funeral is planned for Friday at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore. Maya Rockeymoore, Cummings’ widow and chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party, is expected to run for her late husband’s House seat.
Man stabbed to death after pulling knife during fight
Police say a man was stabbed to death after he pulled a knife on another man. The incident happened yesterday morning near a Mapco Mart near the intersection of Thompson Lane and Murfreesboro Pike. 43-year-old Leonard McKnight Jr. punched and robbed a man of his wallet with a knife in the side parking lot of the mart. But the robbery victim went after McKnight Jr. disarming him and stabbed McKnight multiple times with his own knife. The man also retrieved his wallet and walked away from the scene. McKnight was found on the curb outside the gas station.
Officials say the person who stabbed McKnight appeared to be in his 20s and wore a black jacket, khaki pants and brown shoes. His black hair is long on the top and short on the sides. Men wanted for questioning in shooting of Nashville Lyft driver
Metro Nashville police need your help in finding two men wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting of a Lyft driver Friday night. The shooting happened on Knowles Street. According to police, the men got into the woman’s rideshare vehicle and tried to rob her at gunpoint and shot her twice when she tried to pull out pepper spray. Early this morning, Metro Nashville Police tweeted out photos of two men wanted in connection with the shooting and “other violent crimes.” If you recognize the men, call Crime Stoppers at (615) 74-CRIME.
