Hundreds of low-income families in Nashville receive food, supplies ahead of fall break

This week Metro Schools is taking the week off for fall break. For some kids this would normally mean missing out on two meals a day, but thanks to one special delivery, this year they won’t have to. Thanks to the efforts of a man who goes by “Papa Joe” Bradford, 800 families living there are getting a 25 pound box of food, enough to feed them for the week they’re off school. Also included in the package, 15 pounds of personal care items, essentials food stamps don’t cover. And while the drive is geared toward Metro students, no one is going to be forgotten. This is the 17th year there’s been a drive like this through Elijah’s Heart foundation, created by Papa Joe and his wife.

MORE WHISTLE BLOWERS

Apparently, the whistleblower isn’t alone. An attorney representing him on Sunday said that “multiple” whistleblowers have now surfaced, which will likely bring more weight to the controversy facing Donald Trump and some members of his administration. House Democrats are moving forward with their impeachment probe by subpoenaing documents linked to Trump’s attempts to get foreign countries to investigate his Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Andrew Bakaj, an attorney representing the whistleblower, tweeted, “I can confirm that my firm and my team represent multiple whistleblowers in connection to the underlying August 12, 2019, disclosure to the Intelligence Community Inspector General. No further comment at this time.” (The Washington Post)
