President Trump Ousts National Security Adviser John Bolton

  • President Trump just ousted John Bolton, his third national security adviser in as many years.
  • “I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning,” Trump tweeted Tuesday.
  • Bolton favored a military strike against Iran and never trusted North Korea, putting him at odds with Trump.
  • Bolton joins Michael Flynn and H.R. McMaster in the ranks of Trump’s former national security advisers.
  • Trump says he’ll name Bolton’s replacement next week.

Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputy fired after domestic assault arrest

28-year-old William Watterud  was arrested on domestic violence charges overnight Monday Because of the arrest, he was fired from the WCSO Tuesday morning. Waterud was a detention deputy at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. Watterud was charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment. He is being held in the Maury County jail. Watterud had worked for the WCSO for less than five months.


MTSU President, officials send relief to Bahamas

Middle Tennessee State University raised thousands of dollars and sent relief to Hurricane Dorian victims in the Bahamas. President Sidney McPhee has returned from his home country after traveling there to help the many victims left in the wake of the devastating hurricane. He and other school leaders flew two planes to Freeport, in the Bahamas, with more than 3,000 pounds of supplies. Sadly, McPhee lost his niece in the storm and dozens of his students at MTSU are from the Bahamas.


Gun stolen during car burglaries, another car also stolen

A string a car burglaries led to the theft of a gun and a car in the Sumner County neighborhood of Rivermont Circle..  several cars were also broken into. The handgun was stolen out of one of the vehicles. In the surveillance video, one of the suspects can be seen holding what officials say is that stolen gun. The two suspects are described as white males. Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at (615) 452-2616.


DEMOLITION TO BEGIN AT THE FAIRGROUNDS

Demolition is slated to begin in October at The Fairgrounds Nashville, just days after the end of this year’s Tennessee State Fair. The fair ends on Sept. 15, but it’s not sure if it will be held at the fairgrounds next year. The buildings at the top of the hill will be demolished for the new MLS stadium. The Nashville Soccer Club will play its first game there in 2020. The September flea market will be the first one held in the new expo buildings and begins September 27th.
