An anonymous woman has filed a civil suit accusing Jay-Z of raping her when she was 13-years-old.
The accuser said Jay-Z carried out the act alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000.
The alleged assault took place during an MTV Video Awards afterparty.
The suit was originally filed in October. Jay-Z’s name was recently added. The legal brief is one of many being litigated by attorney Tony Buzbee, who has a list of clients suing Combs.
Jay-Z released a statement denying the allegations. He said, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”
He added, “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
Jay continued, “My wife (Beyoncé) and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age.”
