During a recent interview with BBC Radio 2, Pharrell Williams reflected on the challenges he had while working his first job when he was younger. “McDonald’s was my first and only job,” said the 51-year-old Grammy-winning musician and producer. “I got fired three times. I was eating the chicken nuggets.” While his time at McDonald’s was ultimately short lived, Pharrell did end up having multiple stints working at the fast food chain, but he ended up being fired on three separate occasions. “The first two times it was just because I was lazy,” he explained. “The third was like, ‘What are you doing? You’re just sitting there eating nuggets?’” A career in the music industry proved to be far more successful for Pharrell, with the musician going on to top the Billboard Hot 100 on four different occasions, including a spectacular run with his hit single “Happy,” which stayed at No. 1 for 10 consecutive weeks back in 2014.
