Daughters of Biggie and Jam Master Jay team up to open New York-style pizzeria in L.A.

The daughters of late hip hop legends The Notorious B.I.G. and Jam Master Jay have come together to open up a New York-style pizzeria in Los Angeles, California. As Eater reported, T’yanna Wallace and Tyra Myricks are to set to open up Juicy Pizza, named after Biggie’s 1994 hit song.
The idea for the pizza place reportedly came to Myricks when she noticed that “there was no good pizza in Los Angeles.” “I realized that L.A. doesn’t have good NY-style pizza, so instead of going on an endless hunt for some, I decided to make some!” she wrote in an Instagram post back in February.
With a desire to bring a slice of New York to the West Coast, she reached out to Wallace, who she’s been friends with for some time, about the idea. “The more I thought about how to bring that New York theme to Los Angeles, I felt, ‘Who represents New York more than Biggie Smalls?’” Myricks explained to Business Insider. She also figured the new business would be a great opportunity for her and Wallace to “make money together.”
The menu for Juicy Pizza includes cheese and pepperoni pizza, oxtail, beef and broccoli, jerk chicken, and chopped cheese egg rolls. In addition to the New York-style pizza, the restaurant’s design pays homage to New York City with “subway car details and bodega vibes,” per Eater.
Juicy Pizza is slated to open on Saturday (June 12) “with dinner hours only.” The restaurant will also sell merchandise designed by Myricks and will have a Black-owned members-only cannabis lounge in the back.
The upcoming launch of Juicy Pizza will mark the start of another business for Wallace and Myricks, who both have fashion lines. Myricks is a proud owner of her fashion brand, Wealth, while Wallace sells men’s and women’s clothing at a store in Brooklyn called Notorious, which is also named after her late father.
