Canadian-born NBA star Tristan Thompson has officially been granted his United States citizenship. On Tuesday (Nov. 24) the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Twitter account shared a photo of the 29-year-old taking the Oath of Allegiance.
“I came to the US on a student visa and have always had big dreams,” Thompson said according to USCIS. “I’m now truly living the American dream.”
“Congrats on reaching your goals,” the tweet read. “Best of luck with NBA #Celtics as a #NewUSCitizen!”
