Karl Jordan Jr. was attacked at MDC Brooklyn while he was awaiting sentencing.
The New York Daily News said the fight was between rival gangs. Jordan was treated for his injuries.
Jordan is one of two men convicted for killing Jam Master Jay in 2002.
