Despite the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announcing that the Fan Vote was to run through April 26th, the last day to cast your ballot was April 15th.
Unless Peter Frampton and Foreigner have a huge surge, then it looks as though the Dave Matthews Band will be the fan favorite with either Frampton or Foreigner second as they are neck and neck.
With over four-million ballots cast, the leader board, with the numbers rounded up, is as follows:
- Dave Matthews Band – 573,000
- Foreigner – 516,500
- Peter Frampton – 516,500
- Ozzy Osbourne – 472,500
- Cher – 334,500
- Lenny Kravitz – 305,500
- Kool & The Gang – 282,000
- Mariah Carey – 245,500
- Sinéad O’Connor – 166,500
- Oasis – 164,500
- Sade – 160,500
- Jane’s Addiction – 139,500
- Mary J. Blige – 112,500
- A Tribe Called Quest – 88,000
- Eric B. & Rakim – 55,000
Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige, Jane’s Addiction and A Tribe Called Quest are the only multiple nominees on this year’s list.
Ozzy was inducted as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006.
The top five artists selected by the public will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to determine the 2024 Inductees.
Inductees will be announced at the end of the month with the Induction Ceremony set to take place this fall in Cleveland — date and venue to be announced.
