Roger Goodell took some time to address the Brian Flores situation during his Super Bowl press conference Wednesday.
Per the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Goodell said he found Flores’ allegations “very disturbing.” While also adding, “Integrity of the game is very important,” amid tanking claims. Warning, “We’ll deal with it very seriously,” should the allegations have merit.
Brian Flores put forth a major class-action lawsuit against the NFL on February 1. Accusing the league of racism in its hiring practices, while also citing instances of Dolphins ownership financially incentivizing him to lose games in order to get a top draft pick.
The NFL‘s diversity in hiring has long been a question. But the allegations of tanking from ownership are relatively new and really cut at the integrity of the game.
Roger Goodell has taken a ton of arrows at his press conference. Answering questions regarding Flores, racism, the NFL’s integrity, and damning sexual harassment allegations involving Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder.
