IRAN ADMITS SHOOTING DOWN PLANE

Saturday, Iran admitted it accidentally shot down that Ukrainian passenger plane last week, killing all 176 passengers on board.  General Hossain Salami said   he wished he was on the plane, so he could avoid the shame of making the deadly mistake. After initially claiming the plane crashed due to mechanical problems, Iran admitted it shot rockets that hit jet. The admission prompted protests  calling for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to resign.


Suspect wanted in deadly Edgehill shooting arrested in Arkansas

Authorities have arrested a Nashville murder suspect in Arkansas. Metro police said Friday that 26-year-old Xavier Holloway was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Russellville, Arkansas – located about 77 miles northwest of Little Rock. Police said Holloway had been wanted for the shooting death of 21-year-old Terry Smith . The shooting happened on Edgehill Avenue back on December 12. According to police, Holloway was pointing his gun at another man that night and opened fire. Smith was hit and died on the street. The other person was not injured.


WOMAN DIES AFTER WAITING IN ER TOO LONG

Tashonna Ward, a 25-year-old daycare teacher from Milwaukee, Wisconsin,  passed away  while attempting to seek medical care for chest pains. She spent over two hours in the emergency room before she left to find more urgent care for chest pains and shortness of breath. Soon after leaving, she collapsed and would later die.  Ward was told she had developed an enlarged heart during a 2019 pregnancy. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has not determined a cause of death. Their report also doesn’t say whether Ward was admitted or seen by a doctor at the hospital before she left.


MAN ARRESTED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK

Metro police say they arrested a man after he brutally attacked another man inside of a bar in Nashville. They say this happened on December 27th at the Copa Cabana bar in the 6400 block of Charlotte Pike. The bar manager claims he saw Brandon Bottoms punch another man in the face, knocking him to the ground. He says Bottoms hit the victim again, rendering him unconscious. He repeated hitting the victim. The victim was sent to Centennial for treatment. He received four staples to the head. The bar manager says that Bottoms has been thrown out of the bar before. Bottoms is being charged with aggravated assault.


SUSPECT UNDERWAY FOR MURFREESBORO MAN 

A search for a suspect is underway in Murfreesboro Friday evening after police say shots were fired at officers. The Murfreesboro Police Department announced just after 8 p.m. that shots had been fired at officers who were investigating a crash. Authorities tell FOX 17 News crews on the scene there is a barricaded subject in a home near Sloan Street. Police have surrounded the home. No injuries have been reported at this time.
