Man shot in the chest in Nashboro Village; Suspect at large

Metro police are investigating after a man was shot in the chest in Nashboro Village in Antioch yesterday near the Walgreens in the 2000 block of Murfreesboro Pike. Poiice say the 24-year-old victim was shot in the chest and was taken to Vanderbilt  Medical Center in critical condition. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.


DMV: Prepare for long waits to get REAL ID before October 2020

The TSA will begin requiring REAL ID-compliant documents starting in October 2020. You do not need a REAL ID just to drive or vote. The REAL ID has a gold star on thedrivers license. You’ll need to get a REAL ID if you use your Drivers License as your identification to fly.

The Tennessee Department of Safety is urging drivers to get their REAL IDs now, but they anticipate millions walking through their doors next year, putting it off until the last minute.


SHERIFF OFFICE WILL NO LONGER HOUSE ICE DETAINEES

Nashville-Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall announced  that his office will no longer contract to house Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees — apparently because he no longer wishes to deal with the politics of it. The new policy goes into effect on December 1. Hall decided this after he met with local advocacy groups, Mayor John Cooper, Metro council members, and what the press release described as internal stakeholders.


Metro officer injured in hit-and-run crash in Madison; Suspect sought

A Metro police officer was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Madison yesterday and police are looking for the other driver involved in the crash. The crash happened near the intersection of Myatt Drive and Old Hickory Boulevard. The driver of the other vehicle involved ran from the scene of the crash. Nationals Shock the Astros in Game 7,  Win Franchise’s 1st World Series
