Man charged with murder after 17-year-old was shot, killed in his driveway

Justin “Tony” Garcia, a LaVergne High School student, was shot and killed at his homeon October 8 on Center Street. Police have arrested Deonte’ Moore and charged him with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon while committing a felony, and especially aggravated robbery. Moore was previously identified as a person of interest in the case.


 Body of man who jumped into the Cumberland River found

The Nashville Fire Department found the body of the man they say jumped into the Cumberland River from the riverbank Saturday afternoon. However, the circumstances surrounding the death are unclear. Officials say four other people also jumped in the water to try and save the man, but were unable to do so. Two of them were brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


G-7 Summit Will No Longer Be at Trump’s Luxury Golf Resort

  • President Trump announced via Twitter that the 2020 G-7 Summit will no longer be held at his luxury golf resort near Miami.
  • Trump said, “based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility,” the Trump National Doral is no longer going to host the summit.
  • Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney had named the Doral on Thursday.
  • Camp David and two other venues are being considered.

Applications for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List open Tuesday

This week is your chance to receive a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher. The online application will open on Tuesday at noon and close Friday at 3 in the afternoon. The waiting list is NOT on a first-come, first-served basis. So as long as you apply during the waiting list period, you have an equal chance of being placed near the top of the waiting list. It’s also important to note that anyone is who currently using a voucher needs to apply as well.


15-year-old reported missing in Columbia

Columbia police are looking for 15-year-old Kedarious Eugene Hll who is issing. Hill was last seen in the area of Iron Bridge Road. He is 5’7” and weighs 110 pounds.
