The latter has merged with Sprint, combining the third and fourth wireless service providers in the nation and leaving just 3 major phone carriers. The combined company will take on the name T-Mobile and be a huge competitor to the other two carriers. The company will hire thousands of people in a bid to create a nationwide network that will position the United States as the leader in providing 5G connectivity.
