JOY JOT FOR YOUR JOURNEY
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” – Rev. 3:20
There is nothing like a good meal. I purchased a Mexican meal from a restaurant at a gas station…yes, a gas station. (I am sure there are plenty of jokes surfacing from that statement…but I shall not go there.) Anyway, I picked it up from the counter and rushed to my SUV to quickly go to the nearby lake, relax and eat. It smelled wonderful but I wasn’t expecting it to be DELICIOUS!!!
It was like those many moments I take time with my greatest love, Jesus and assume it will be a simple meal-of-the-Word. As always, I walk away wanting more…no matter how long I feast on His word in His presence, it is never enough. Yes, I am full in my heart and soul but hungry for so much more. It is nothing like sitting down to a good meal and your physical body cannot handle stuffing more down just because it taste good. Too much will make you sick. Stagnate. Weighted down. Immovable. Non-productive.
However, “eating” the Word of God as the Holy Spirit speaks revelation to you develops an inner indescribable hunger that is never fully satisfied and still yet, wonderfully satisfying. You come away feeling like you can conquer any and everything that comes before you, victoriously!
I pray each day you sup with the Father God for nourishment that cannot be described and only experienced. His word is worth every bite! Chew on that today!
