“The Real” is being slapped with a lawsuit!!

Following Tamar Braxton‘s problematic departure from the series, the actress Tatyana Ali has filed a lawsuit against its creators.

Why?

Ali claims that the show’s producers, Warner Bros, stole the show’s idea from her after telling her that they weren’t interested in it.

In 2012, she pitched a show to the company which would be hosted by five women in a “unique and innovative format, which featured an eclectic group of engaging female celebrity hosts, each aged within their 20’s and 30’s.”

Alas, her idea (undeniably inspired by ABC’s ‘The View‘) was rejected by the company following her pitch.

It wasn’t long, according to her suit, before she learned of their plans to build ‘The Real.’

Yahoo adds:

The lawsuit later states that the program featured “a variety of contemporary discussion topics in a relaxed and informal setting.” The Real premiered six months after Ali pitched the idea to the company when they declined her proposal.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress also plans to obtain “all rightful gain, profits, and advantages derived by the Defendants,” and in addition, “designated percentages of the proceeds resulting from past, current and future production and airing of The Real television program.
