Bio - Tyson “Weekend Wonder” Smith 92Q

Tyson “Weekend Wonder” Smith, has always been interested in communication since a very young age.  Tyson states that he mother used to always tell him that “His talking all the time is going to get him in trouble”.  Boy did it ever!!!

Tyson has been with 92Q as a Part-time announcer for…Let us just say a long time!!!  Tyson decided to become an announcer/DJ because it was something that he always wanted to do and fulfilled that dream by working at the station he grew up listening too (Power Jamz 92Q).  The name “The Weekend Wonder” came about because when he first started at the station, he worked every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at any time and often back-to-back shifts.  Another long time announcer and veteran of the station T. Weakley coin the phrase for him “The Weekend Wonder” because he worked so often on the weekends and he has carried that name ever since.  Over the years, he has been able to establish himself as one of the most professional and smooth sounding announcers to hold down the weekends for 92Q.  You still check him out on the weekends where he often reminds the listeners of his favorite quote…“It is nice to be important, but more important to be nice”…Peace!.

Tyson has received his B.S. Degree in Organizational Management from BethelUniversity and an Assoc. Degree in Communication from DavidsonTechCollege.  He currently works full time as a Sr. Employee Relations Specialist for a local major corporation but still finds time to be an active participant in the community.  He has partnered with many social and civic organizations to give back to the community so that he could motivate and inspire children to follow there dreams.  Such organization that he has work with include the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of Tn., RBI baseball league, and the Victory Empowerment Ctr.

Tyson “Weekend Wonder” Smith is always available for speaking engagements, hosting civic and social events, and participating in community outreach.  Please contact him at the station to partner with you!!
